These are some of my favorite finds.
This rocking chair has the most amazing chippy paint.
Three awesome old sleds. The hubs was wondering why we need three new sleds until I told him these were going to be for sale in my booth.
I was able to get this amazing old trunk for only $30. We really want to use it somewhere in our house but are having a hard time finding the perfect place. I may have to hold onto this one for awhile - not ready to part with it yet!
The trunk is lined in this cute fabric and has a bunch of cool labels like this one.
This huge round wooden box is one of my favorite finds - I found out its an old pantry box and I think it would make a really unique end table. The striped suitcase is joining my collection. And the aqua jug is actually a great vintage Thermos.
One of the coolest things was a surprise. I got an old book from 1912 called The Practical Hygenic Preparation of Food. When I opened it up, it was full of old newspaper clippings, recipes, and hand-written notes.
These were really interesting in themselves with vintage recipes and home remedies for things like diptheria. But the real surprise was this program from a lecture Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan Macy gave around 1913 at First Baptist Church in Iowa City.
I have no idea what it is worth but what an amazing piece of history.
I also got a bunch of other old books, some wire baskets, more old frames, and various miscellaneous. It may be a little sick just how much I love yard sales. I might just go into mourning when yard sale season really and truly ends for the year.

Wow...some great finds. Love the trunk and the rocker. And what great surprises in the book.
I was stuck at home Sat. morning as my van got sick and is in the shop. No yard sales...and I was so ready for them. Bummer.

Super finds. Good for you. I always go into mourning when yard sale season ends. I have found that auctions ease the pain a bit!Enjoy.

Wow! I can safely say that I would have purchased everything you mentioned! The Helen Keller program is an AMAZING find--that has got to be worth some $! My fave treasure is the blue chippy rocker. To die for!
I too share your love of all things vintage and hunting down treasures. The trunk would have for sure ended up with me too. Over here in The Netherlands those are super expensive. Great that you found one with the hangers. Please share when ever you find use for it in your home. Happy hunting in future.
Working full time, I have never bothered to go yard saling because it is less time I can spend working on "projects". BUT, after seeing all the super-inexpensive, great things junkers are finding, I may have to change my thinking!
