Lately I have been thinking about the messages and reminders all over my home and I have realized something really important is missing.
When I wrote about my vintage Bible wreath, one of my favorite comments was from Jenny who reminded me that Deuteronomy 6:4-9 says to write the Word of God on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.
Yeah, haven’t been doing that. So I have made a resolution. (Yes, you can make resolutions on February 27th. New Year’s Day gets more than its fair share – it is time to spread them around.)
Now I don't know about you, but when I think about people displaying Scripture in their home, my mind automatically pictures the corniest, most dated decor possible.
So as a kickoff and source of inspiration I thought I would share a collection of Etsy finds that really show what I have in mind.

How awesome are those etsy prints? Anyone out there want to take on this challenge with me? I'd love some company on this little journey.
I am sharing this resolution at Serenity Now.

Great ideas! Those pillows are adorable!
I'm in! Actually put a chalkboard in my laundry room a couple of weeks ago (I spend a lot of time there) for the sole purpose of writing verses that would encourage me in a long trial I am being taken through. So far all I have been able to write is Lord, help me! I will check out the easy stores. Suzi
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Just found you when I was googling "styling bookcases" and I love your blog! Displaying scripture is one of my "resolutions" for this year as well. So many ideas I'm going to use... Love your floors(think I might try that idea on my stairs.)Ok, off to find your follow button - Dani
Found you through the new linky followers blog hop. I'm so happy to be your newest follower, it would be great if you follow me back. :)
And, on Friday I'll be hosting a "What does your blog want to be when it grows up" blog hop with a few of my blog buddies ... have you thought of your blog's hopes and dreams?

It has been a goal of mine to follow that command in Deuteronomy 6 for absolutely years. But I could never come up with a way to do it that wouldn't look hokey or bad... and then there's the challenge of deciding on 'just the right verses.' So far I've resorted to printing Scripture on paper and taping it on windows or other feature spots on the house. Not exactly classy.
I appreciate the ideas you've shown here. I have a Pinterest board of ideas for adding Scripture around our home and hope I'll find my answer. A great example I found on Etsy was in metal sculpture and thought you might enjoy seeing this person's work: http://www.etsy.com/shop/thewordwithin?ref=seller_info
