I think these could be fabulous used inside your home as well as out. Instead of choosing your house number, you could get a sign with the your anniversary, your child’s birthday, or your lucky number.

Oh my gosh I LOVE these and would like to have our house number (inside the house as we rent) but I've lived in this house for 7 years (the basement as a single lady) and moved up to the main house apartment when my engagement happened to coincide with my landlord buying a new house and moving out! Our baby was born here and even after we leave 107 will be a special number to us :)
I LOVE quotes and used to keep a sketchbook where I jotted down favorite lines and book excerpts. One of my favorites has always been from Ralph Waldo Emerson...
