A More Manly Redo – Blue Striped Table

I picked up a few cute little tables last year during yard sale season.  I loved the shape but not the super-shiny black finish.

I already redid the first with some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (ASCP) in antibes green. You can see the before of this table behind the green one in this picture.

I love the cute scalloped edge and the great bookshelf, so I really wanted to do something to make this table stand out.

I painted the table with Aubusson blue ASCP and then added the stripes and painted the feet with Graphite ASCP. The two colors work really well together.

I have a thing for off-center stripes these days and I am really loving how these continue around the two sections.

If I am completely honest, most of my furniture makeovers turn out pretty girly.  But I think this one strikes the perfect balance with its feminine curves and masculine colors.

What about you – are most of your projects more girly or more manly?  Have you done any pieces that strike a balance right down the middle?

And don't forget to link up to the That’s The Ticket Blog Hop and enter the giveaway for a custom hand-painted sign.

I like the stripes - makes it so unique! This is one of my favorite style tables - I keep my favorite books displayed on the bottom! And that green table is fabulous!
