This post is part of a collaboration with Cost Plus World Market. All of the awesome organizing ideas and photos are my own.
Every year as soon as the Christmas decorations are put away, I can’t wait to start clearing out clutter and organizing the mountains of new toys my kids got over the holidays. The past few years I’ve been hitting the decluttering and purging hard, so this year I really want to work on getting what’s left more organized.
Somehow, no matter how much stuff we get rid of, whatever is left seems to wind up in piles all over the house. I’d love to blame my kids and, let’s be real, it is largely their fault. But in all honestly, they are certainly not responsible for the unopened mail currently on our kitchen counter or the piles of wood in the bathroom waiting to be transformed into beautiful molding.
In any case, this year I’ve been working to solve a few of the trouble spots in our home with some simple organization. So when World Market, one of my favorite home decor stores, asked me to share some of my ideas for organizing with baskets, I was thrilled to have some extra motivation to put my plans into action.
I’m sharing my tips for taming four of the trouble spots in our home (including one that has plagued me all eight years we’ve lived here!) over on the World Market blog today. I would love for you to check it out right here.
Ok, before I go, here’s a little sneak peak of the bathroom I’m working on for the $100 Room Challenge. (And yes, you guessed it, that awesome metal basket is one of my favorites from World Market.)
This room is already looking so much better. (Although to be fair, this corner looks way more put together than the entire rest of the room. I’ll have a full update on the bathroom and the challenge for you Wednesday – which means I’d better get back to work!
