Handmade gifts – most people love em or hate em. They can definitely be pretty tricky territory. Handmade gifts are amazing because
- they can be completely personalized
- they are way more meaningful
- they are usually a lot cheaper
The problem is that sometimes we expect someone to love a gift for no reason other than that we made it. And as sweet and wonderful as that would be, most people want to like their actual gift as well.
So how do you make sure your handmade gifts aren’t a flop? I think it comes down to really thinking about the person you are giving the gift to (just like with any gift). If they love beautiful things, making them a beautiful thing is perfect. But if they are all about the practical, make them something they can really use. It is all about the receiver. I absolutely adore my chalkboard calendar, but if the person you are making a gift for is an all digital kind of person, a big old chalkboard calendar isn’t going to do them one bit of good.
That being said, I love to make gifts so I have lots of handmade gift ideas for you. Just be sure to think about the person you are giving them to!
