There is still one last tutorial from my bedroom gallery wall I haven’t shared: my new earring holder. This is actually one of those projects that is so simple and easy, tutorial really seems too grand a word for it.
I started with a small oval frame. Originally I just attached two small wires to the frame to hang earrings from but I didn’t really like how it looked. The wires became droopy very quickly and it just didn’t look great. So I decided chicken wire was the way to go. You can buy rolls of chicken wire inexpensively at any home improvement store. The rolls are fairly big so even if your frame is much larger than mine, you will have tons of chicken wire left over for other projects.
Using a pair of wire cutters, cut the chicken wire into the shape you need and then attach it. (See what I mean about not really needing a tutorial?) I attached my chicken wire using duct tape all around the edges. This was a quick and easy way, plus, the duct tape keeps the wire edges from scratching the wall.
Then hang it and add earrings. This is one of those awesome projects that is functional and beautiful, inexpensive and quick. Plus it works great when paired with the jewelry display I made from an old cabinet door.
And now I have the perfect excuse to buy some more jewelry. (Insert evil laugh here).
Also, I have finally joined Twitter. I would love for you to click over and follow me if you get a chance.
