As I post this, I am currently in the thick of my freakishly huge hoard-purging yard sale. Hopefully there are people lined up ten deep fighting to buy my awesome stuff. (If not, there is always tomorrow!)
Since this whole decluttering obsession began with a need to clear a space for the new baby’s room, I thought I would share some of what is really inspiring me nursery wise. I realize most of you are probably not currently designing a nursery, but I’ve always loved gawking at beautiful baby rooms even when I had no intention of needing one of my own. And I figure that just maybe you feel the same way. (To see lots more gorgeous nursery eye candy, check out my amazing nurseries board on Pinterest).
- neutral walls
- lots of white and grays
- a mix of vintage and modern touches
- simple geometric patterns
- and of course – pops of aqua
Planning the nursery has been an interesting experience for me – I usually let a room develop in stages over several years. Well, that isn’t exactly going to work in this case. I can’t really wait until my son is three to put the finishing touches on the nursery. So I’ve been doing lots of research into how to plan a room right from the get-go. I’m pretty excited to see how this process pans out – maybe I’ll figure out how to finally ‘finish’ some other rooms in my home.
What about you – are you more of an all-at-once decorator or a slowly-over-time sort? And which of the nurseries above is your favorite? I don’t know if I can pick a favorite – I would be thrilled to wake up and find any of them in my house!
