So, gallery walls. It turns out I really, really love a good gallery wall. We already have four gallery walls in our house, but I’m itching to create another one.
(Even as I type this, four sounds like a lot. But it doesn’t look like a lot at all. They are spread throughout the house from the colorful gallery in the master bedroom to the big photo wall in the family room, the small gallery in the nursery, and the instant gallery wall in the foyer. And hey, it’s my house and I love a good gallery wall.)
What can I say. There’s nothing like a gallery wall to really make a big impact in a room. (And I’m all about making an impact. If I’m going to spend time doing something, I want it to be noticed!)
So I’m thinking about a new gallery wall in our hallway – which is currently mostly empty and boring. And I’m thinking I want it to be all about travel.
I love to travel. As in L.O.V.E. love. That doesn’t mean we are globe-trotters because we’re not. So far pretty much all of our trips have been to places we can reach by car. Although, to be fair, one of those trips was an 8000 mile cross country roadtrip. And it was awesome. But I also have some seriously amazing memories from trips that were less than an hour from home as well.
And I can’t think of much I would rather get to look at everyday than a big old wall full of memories from our getaways.
Obviously a travel gallery wall needs to involved lots of photos of favorite travel memories; but I also want to incorporate some art prints, maps, and other fun mementos.

So I went in search of some inspiration and found some awesome stuff at Minted. I really thought Minted was all about photo cards and invitations – I had no idea they also had some really gorgeous art prints.
Like this gold foil road map of the U.S. I was a little slow to warm up to gold but now I am loving it and the warmth it adds.
I’d also love to be able to include this gold foil map of Hawaii. Of course, right now that is mostly wishful thinking because we haven’t actually been to Hawaii yet. But we definitely will get there one day. And when we do, you’d better believe I’m going to want to remember it daily!
There are also some fun map prints you can make with your own photos like this Virginia collage. Puts a fun twist on vacation memories.
And I love this photo collage with the travel stamp in the corner. What a great way to remember a favorite trip – it even includes the dates of your vacation.
There are some really classy gold foil prints of amazing landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge. (Where we have actually been. And loved.)
And finally, I just adore this little timeline. It is adorable for showing your timeline as a couple. But I also think it would be super fun to use to remember all of our favorite trips – from when we got engaged in Isle of Palm, SC to our first family vacation with our son.
Disclosure: Minted provided me with a gift certificate. All of the opinions and ideas in this post are my own. And I’m definitely going to be putting that gift certificate to work to start on my latest gallery wall.
