Refinishing an old tabletop is a great way to make a table look new again. And if you do it well, the new finish will look continue to look beautiful for years.

The first step is stripping the old finish. There are two ways  to do this - sanding or using a chemical stripper. In most cases, using a stripper works best.

You can also strip and restain the table legs, but it is much more time intensive. I saved a lot of time by painting my table base with a paint sprayer.

Once you've picked the perfect shade of stain for your table, pretreat the wood with wood conditioner and then wipe on your stain.

The final step is to protect the new finish with polyurethane. This will keep your table looking beautiful for years.

Now that is a beautiful table! Get detailed step-by-step instructions at the link below.
