Get creative this holiday season with these DIY outdoor Christmas decorations. These simple ideas include lots of inexpensive ways to add Christmas cheer to your porch, yard, and front door.
I absolutely love decorating for Christmas, but I’ll be the first to admit outdoor decorations are often an afterthought. I usually throw a few things on the front porch, but this year I really want to step up my outdoor Christmas decorations. And since I’m a DIY kind of girl, I went looking for the best DIY outdoor Christmas decoration ideas.
These DIY outdoor decorations include outdoor Christmas trees, outdoor lighting projects, fun signs, upcycled projects and more. There are decorations you can hang from the eaves, lean beside the door, or hang on the wall. Basically, a little something for everyone.

DIY Wood Reindeer with Free Plans from Her Tool Belt
How sweet is this wooden reindeer? I would never have guessed this was made using a single 1×8 board! You can use this reindeer on it’s own, make several, or pair it with that super cute sleigh (you can find that tutorial linked in the post.)

I’m always here for a clever upcycle and I love this simple snowman with his jaunty hat. I think this DIY strikes the perfect balance between fun and classy.

DIY Lighted Star Luminaries from Polka Dot Chair
I love the idea of hanging star luminaries on your porch when you don’t want to deal with hanging traditional outdoor lights. The luminaries themselves aren’t a DIY (although I’m sure you could make your own), but the tutorial shows all the details you need as far as how to hang them and figure out the light cords.
DIY Lighted Orbs from Pine and Poplar
This is another fun idea for adding more festive lights to the exterior of your home. These sweet lighted orbs look magical floating in the trees and are pretty easy to make using inexpensive materials.
