I was checking out some blogs the other day and I came across one that really caught my attention. Jules at Pancakes and French Fries is spending the next 31 days trying to abide by the above quote. As soon as I saw her mission, I thought, “Yes! I would love to take that challenge – if only I could find the time.”
And then I realized that while I would love to simplify my home down to just those things I need and love, there is something else I would love to simplify even more. My time.
Like many of you, I feel like there is never enough time, I am always behind, and all of those other cliches. I want that to change. I don’t want to be one of those people who always complains about how busy they are – hate that! If I don’t like my busy-ness, I need to change it. But it is so hard!
What I love about the William Morris quote is how it eliminates all the waffling and uncertainty of deciding what is important. Don’t use it? Don’t love it? Then get rid of it. I want that simplicity in deciding what things are worth my time and what things are not. I need a quote!
Umm, yeah, needs work. But it seems to boil down to a question of do I need to do this and if not, do I want to? I guess it is pretty simple if I let it be.
What do you guys think? How would you fill in the blanks? I bet you can come up with something way better than me.
