Bring on Spring! Spring Home Tour

My house is definitely a spring/summer house.  I love, love, love blues and greens and light, happy décor.  So springifying my house really doesn’t take much.  Like me, it has been impatiently waiting for spring to come all winter long!

Spring-Parade-of-Homes-2014-Graphic

I am super excited to be participating in the Spring Parade of Homes today.  Because it gave me a reason to try out a bit of spring décor for a change.  Because it gave me a reason to show you guys some updates of my house.  And because it gave me a reason to get myself in gear and get the house cleaned up!

So welcome to our home!

entry with painted plank wall

The foyer is the first thing you see when you come in.  And thanks to the recent addition of our plank wall, I am loving it!

Entry with plank wall

Through the entry is our living room.  Home to some of my favorite projects including the painted subfloors and herringbone painted secretary desk.  And the most gorgeous pair of turquoise lamps I snatched up at the Goodwill.

green and aqua vignette

I am loving this free spring printable from Kraft & Mint.  I just printed it out and taped it into a shadowbox with a little piece of washi tape.

hello spring

Connected to the living room is the dining room – home to the trash to treasure dining table and yard sale dining chairs reupholstered with a shower curtain.  And a few cheerful cherry blossoms from the weeping cherry tree outside.

In our family room is the spring mantel I shared last week.  (The first spring mantel I have ever had!)  It is full of aqua, green, and happy yellow flowers. (And, of course, our big black hole of a TV but I try to overlook that.)

The “s” is a thrift store find I covered in a fabric scrap.

S is for spring mantel

The mantel is also home to my latest repurposed project – a little storage box made from a vintage book and some rulers.

The master bedroom is also feeling ready for Spring.

The painted lampshades are a newer addition and you can check out more details about the love headboard here.

I even added a little spring to the gallery wall with a new message on the magnet board.  (I can’t look at it without wanting to bust out singing.)

I've got sunshine - gallery wall

And of course I had to include the best room in our house: our screened porch.  This is the absolute perfect spot to enjoy spring – well, until the pollen season starts anyway.

And that’s our home!  I love that it is all decked out for spring with just the addition of a few flowers and a free printable.

Be sure to check out the other homes participating in the Spring Parade of Homes – there are some gorgeous ones.

Thank you! I definitely have a thing for turquoise. According to my husband I paint EVERYTHING turquoise. But I think I’m okay with that. :)

Thanks Alicia! We have an abundance of trees – we are pretty much surrounded by woods. Luckily all of the flowers and trees are pretty low maintenance because I am quite possibly the worst gardener alive.

Thanks Krista! The gallery wall and plank wall are two of my favorites too. And you are right – I don’t often take the time to bring fresh flowers and plants inside but it makes such a huge difference. I’m going to have to start doing it a lot more often.
